Estate Administration is the legal process by which a person’s debts are paid and assets are distributed upon his or her death. Estate Administration includes the probate process as well as non-probatable transfers of the deceased’s assets.
Probate is the Court proceeding through which last Will and Testament is proved to be valid and the estate of a decedent is administered. Process includes collecting decedent’s assets, liquidating liabilities, paying necessary taxes and distributing property the heirs of the decedent. This distribution is directed by the decedent’s last will and Testament as well as by State Laws.
Planning your own Estate, drafting a Will, or handling the death of a loved one can be a stressful situation. It also requires specialized knowledge. The Probate Court System can be complicated, and to conserve assets and assure of proper dispersal you need a Lawyer with knowledge of these processes.
